Job summary

Syracuse University in Syracuse, NY invites applications for a full-time, non-tenure-track Assistant Teaching Professor in Library and Information Science (MSLIS). The position focuses on teaching across on-campus and online formats to support our accredited program.

The successful candidate will teach eight courses per year, mentor students, and contribute to curriculum development while engaging with diverse colleagues in a collaborative, research-informed environment.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in library and information science from an ALA-accredited program, or an equivalent degree in a closely related field.
• Demonstrated, substantial experience teaching library and information science at the graduate level.
• Experience teaching in in-person, online, and/or hybrid settings.

Responsibilities

• Teaching eight courses per academic year (four per semester) in the MSLIS program, in person and online;
• Mentoring and advising students;
• Originating and regularly maintaining online courses, including developing course content and instructional media;
• Contributing to curriculum development and program assessment;
• Participating in service to the program, the School, and the University.
