Job summary

Alverno Laboratories is seeking an MIS operations specialist at the Central Laboratory in Hammond, IN. The role focuses on maintaining and supporting the Laboratory Information System (LIS) and backing up outreach software, with responsibilities spanning implementation, validation, support, and regulatory documentation.

Travel to remote facilities is required to support SSFHS hospitals and affiliated centers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in medical / clinical sciences or information systems is required.
• Two (2) years relevant clinical laboratory or information services experience required.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and support the daily operation of the Laboratory Information System (LIS).
• Back up maintenance and support of outreach software systems.
• Perform implementation, validation, support & maintenance activities of LIS; and validation of HIS for SSFHS hospitals and centers; support for partner sites and outreach software at Core Lab.
• Develop and maintain procedures and documentation required for regulatory agencies; travel to remote facilities as needed.

WHAT WILL YOU DO.

This individual maintains and supports the daily operation of the LIS and serves as backup for maintenance and support of all outreach software. This individual is responsible for implementation, validation, support & maintenance activities of the Laboratory Information System (LIS); maintenance and validation of the Hospital Information System (HIS) for the Sisters of St. Francis (SSFHS) hospitals and associated outpatient and other service centers; support, maintenance, and validation activities for partner and patron sites; development and maintenance of procedures and documentation required for regulatory agencies; and serves as backup for implementation, validation, support & maintenance activities of outreach software systems at the Core Lab. Travel to remote facilities is required.
