A temporary position as a Liquor Warehouse Specialist in Vermont requires individuals who can perform various warehouse tasks including shipping and receiving fragile beverage cases. The role involves operating a forklift, managing inventory, and ensures candidates are fit for physically demanding work.
Warehouse work involving shipping and receiving fragile alcoholic beverage cases and related items in a central warehouse for the Division of Liquor Control using a computerized warehouse management system. Specific duties will vary according to assignment, and typically include operating a forklift or order picker, counting and inventory control, loading 40-50lb cases of product, packing split cases, performing stage audits, occasional special order delivery, setting up agency stores, and others. Duties are performed under the supervision of the Liquor Warehouse Supervisor.
Hourly rates within the Classified Bargaining Unit Pay Plan will change effective July 2, 2023. At that time, the starting rate (Step 1) for this job opening will be $17.46 per hour.
This position, Liquor Warehouse Specialist - Temporary (Job Requisition #47513), is open to all State employees and external applicants. This is a temporary position. Temporary work is typically for variable hours, and is not expected to be full-time. The State does not guarantee 40 hours of work per week.

Duties are performed in a temperature-controlled warehouse. Incumbents preferably should possess a valid driver's license. Incumbents are required, on a daily basis, to pick 600-1000 cases of liquor from stacked warehouse stock and to lift, by hand, boxes weighing 40-55 pounds.
One (1) or more years of experience in inventory, shipping, warehouse, delivery, or related field.
Valid driver’s license.
Experience operating a forklift.
Experience managing inventory or warehouse.
