Job description

We are looking for a friendly, motivated individual to deliver outstanding customer care in the fast-paced environment of our Fine Wine & Good Spirits store! In this position, you will engage with customers to understand their preferences and guide them in finding the perfect products, enhancing their shopping experience with tailored recommendations. Your duties will encompass helping customers with their choices, overseeing inventory, and maintaining a well-stocked and welcoming store environment. In this role, you will be tasked with supervising a shift at a liquor store or managing the activities of junior clerks, concentrating on specific duties such as processing sales or handling shipments. Your responsibilities will encompass not only overseeing other clerks but also engaging in essential tasks. These tasks include providing customer service, operating the cash register, unloading deliveries, restocking shelves, creating displays, and maintaining store cleanliness. Additionally, you will be responsible for training lower-level employees on store policies and procedures, assigning and evaluating their work, preparing accounting and inventory reports for your shift, managing cash-related issues, and addressing customer service and product inquiries. While you will independently carry out routine store functions, you will consult with a manager or assistant manager for guidance on unfamiliar situations. Your performance will be assessed by a manager through meetings and reports to ensure compliance with policies and procedures.


Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment.
  • Work hours vary between 7:00 am and 10:00 pm, Sunday - Saturday.
  • Salary: The starting salary for this position for new Commonwealth employees is fixed at the minimum salary listed above and is not negotiable.

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Six months as a Liquor Store Clerk 1 or Intermittent Liquor Store Clerk (commonwealth titles); or
  • Six months of retail sales work.

  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.

  • You must pass a background investigation. An applicant with a felony conviction within the last ten years of their prospective date of employment is not permitted to work for the PLCB, per section 210(c) of the Pennsylvania Liquor Code. Other criminal convictions will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.
