Job summary

Newfoundland Labrador Liquor Corporation (NLC) is seeking a Liquor Sales Clerk for a temporary on-call position at the Carbonear Liquor Store. The role focuses on delivering excellent customer service, operating the POS system, handling inventory, and upholding store security and responsible alcohol sales.

The successful candidate will have a high school diploma, be at least 19, and possess at least one year of retail customer service experience.

Qualifications

• High School graduation is mandatory.
• At least 19 years of age.
• Minimum 1 year of customer service experience in a retail setting.
• Must be physically able to perform duties (physical capability testing may be required).
• Demonstrated interpersonal skills.
• Any combination of training and experience acceptable to the Corporation.

Responsibilities

As a member of NLC’s stores team, this position is accountable for the following:

• Provide excellent customer service through the SERVE process;
• Operate a point of sale system;
• Perform inventory control by receiving inventory, maintaining product shelving and completing inventory counts;
• Maintain store security and perform loss prevention activities;
• Ensure social responsibility by preventing the sale of alcoholic beverages to prohibited individuals;
• Fill custom orders:
• Attend product knowledge seminars;
• Other related duties;

The successful candidate must possess the following qualifications:

• High School graduation;
• At least 19 years of age;
• A minimum of one (1) year of customer service experience in a retail environment;
• Must be physically able to perform the duties required (Physical capability testing may be required);
• Demonstrated interpersonal skills;
• Or any combination of training and experience acceptable to the Corporation.
