Job summary

Job description

SUMMARY
  • This position is responsible for maintaining the Liquid Sugar Shipping operation including, but not limited to analyzing production, loading and shipping railcars and trailers.
  • Hourly rate $32.29 - $31.15
FUNCTIONS

Primary Responsibilities/Essential Functions

  • Knows and observes all Standard Operating Procedures, safety procedures and rules, environmental practices and GMP guidelines.
  • Responsible for operating and maintaining sugar processing and peripheral equipment in the liquid shipping areas according to defined Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Responsible for troubleshooting all problems that occur on sugar processing and peripheral equipment and requesting mechanical or electrical assistance when needed.
  • Responsible for cleaning, inspection, and lubrication on all machinery within their scope of authority.
  • Load all liquid products into railcars and trailers according to station SOP’s.
  • Responsible for process quality and Safe Quality Food (SQF) program. Performs quality checks at prescribed intervals to ensure the best quality products are being produced. Initiate documentation and provide signature to verify compliance with all required quality & SQF checks for the assigned area.
  • Responsible for transferring all liquid products produced in the refinery to the proper tanks, proper blending, and dilutions with the correct products and/or ingredients and loading the correct products within the specifications of the final products.
  • Monitor and correct or report variances in product quality standards for liquid specialty shipments. Maintain all documentation associated with the truck weights. Produce other production and quality reports as needed.
  • Responsible for the cleanliness/Five S of the area assigned.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Liquid shipping areas assign Fire Extinguisher monthly inspections.
  • Analyzing Sucrose & Invert.

Experience

The following are the basic qualifications:

  • Minimum of three-years’ experience operating industrial production equipment or machinery.

The following are the preferred qualifications:

  • Minimum one-year experience Analyzing Sucrose & Invert.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities (including any physical demands)

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.
  • Ability to analyze production.
  • While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
