Job description

The Liquid Cooling Testing Supervisor leads daily server-level (L10) and rack-level (L11) test operations in the Liquid Cooling (LC) test room, ensuring safety, quality, productivity, customer satisfaction, and continuous improvement. The role has a strong focus on failure analysis, test log interpretation, and test process discipline - driving root cause identification, yield improvement, and standard work compliance - while owning shift execution against daily output targets in a 24/7 multi-shift environment. Liquid cooling infrastructure knowledge is developed through internal certification training.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead daily server-level (L10) and rack-level (L11) test operations in the Liquid Cooling test room.
  • Drive failure analysis: first-level triage of test failures, Pareto by failure mode and architecture level, root cause investigation with 8D/5-Why, and corrective action follow-up to closure.
  • Own test log interpretation: read and analyze test logs to distinguish real hardware failures from test environment, script, or infrastructure issues; reduce NTF and retest rates.
  • Own test process discipline: test flow compliance (SN/MAC provisioning, station sequencing), standard work adherence, deviation control, and process audit readiness.
  • Monitor and drive KPIs: FPY, cycle time, test-tail control, station utilization/idle time, throughput vs. plan, downtime, NTF/retest rate.
  • Manage manpower, shift schedules, overtime, and cross-training coverage for 24/7 operation, including LC-specific certification of technicians.
  • Support liquid cooling test infrastructure readiness: CDUs, manifolds, cold plates, and quick disconnects; enforce leak check procedures and lead leak/spill response on shift.
  • Coordinate capacity planning, material readiness, and test bay infrastructure readiness (power distribution, network switching, coolant loop).
  • Reduce pre-start wait time and prioritize servers and racks by customer commit date.
  • Lead customer escalations and cross-functional communication with Engineering, Quality, and Repair.
  • Coach technicians and engineers on failure triage and log analysis; maintain the cross-training and LC certification matrix.
  • Support NPI and new test process implementation for liquid-cooled server and rack platforms.
  • Own floor EHS compliance: LOTO, electrical safety in test bays, coolant handling and spill response, and 5S/housekeeping.
  • Prepare executive reports and recovery/mitigation plans for output and yield misses, with root cause analysis.
  • Drive Kaizen and standard work compliance.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree required (Engineering, Electronics, Industrial, Mechanical, or related field).
  • 3-5 years in electronics/server manufacturing or test operations, with at least 1-2 years supervising technicians in a multi-shift environment.
  • Server-level (L10) and rack-level (L11) functional test experience - required. Understanding of server and rack test flows, test stations, SN/MAC provisioning, and test process control.
  • Strong failure analysis and test log experience - required. Hands-on failure triage, log reading and interpretation, failure mode classification, and root cause methodology (8D/5-Why).
  • Liquid cooling equipment experience - preferred, not required. CDUs, cold plates, manifolds, quick disconnects, leak detection. Internal LC certification training is provided.
  • Experience running operations against daily output targets and reporting misses with root cause and recovery plan.
  • Programming/scripting skills - Python, Java, Bash, SQL or similar. Applied to test log parsing, failure data analysis, and automation of reports and test floor tools.
  • Familiarity with test bay infrastructure: power distribution and network switching in test environments.
  • Strong communication and decision-making skills; excellent attention to detail and dedication to maintaining quality standards.
  • Failure analysis - failure triage, Pareto by failure mode and architecture level, NTF/retest reduction, root cause closure, feedback loop to Engineering and Repair.
  • Test logs & data analysis - log reading and interpretation, distinguishing hardware vs. test environment issues, data-driven yield improvement.
  • Test process discipline - test flow compliance, standard work, deviation control, audit readiness.
  • Liquid cooling operations - CDU awareness, leak prevention/response discipline, coolant handling safety (developed via internal certification).
  • Shift & manpower management - scheduling, overtime control, cross-training and LC certification matrix, coverage for 24/7 operation.
  • KPI management - FPY, cycle time, test-tail control, station utilization/idle time, throughput vs. plan, downtime, NTF/retest rate.
  • Communication - shift handoffs, executive and customer-facing reporting, clear plain-language instructions to floor staff. Bilingual English/Spanish.
  • Programming & scripting - Python, Java, Bash, SQL or similar for test log parsing, failure data analysis, dashboards, and automation of repetitive test floor tasks.
  • Systems & tools - MES/test management systems, Excel and PowerPoint reporting, Kaizen and standard work.
