Liquid Cooling Services Operations Manager
Vertiv’s Thermal Service organization is hiring a Liquid Cooling Services Operations Manager. This position will be responsible for leading Vertiv’s fluid management services, direct‑to‑chip service and project support business operations. This person will focus on establishing processes for Vertiv’s ongoing service and maintenance of liquid cooling systems to ensure a smooth, repeatable process is established, implemented, and followed. This job requires a technical understanding of mechanical systems and a knowledge of chemical systems is a plus.
This position will help build remediation plans and coordinate with PG‑25 fluid manufacturers. In addition, this person will gather technical and fluid remediation requirements to build out pricing and proposals for our end‑user customers. Good technical and costing skills are essential.
Responsibilities
- Work with the Project deployment and Field Services organizations to help drive standard methods and procedures and institute best practices for performing liquid cooling services. Ensure the procedures are documented and enforced.
- Create the service and delivery scope of work in conjunction with the technical and service sales teams. Work with Vertiv’s water treatment suppliers to gather remediation instructions and convert their material price with Vertiv’s direct labor costing to build out a detailed proposal.
- Interface with Vertiv’s field labor team on effectively implementing fluid treatment based on specific instructions from our chemical suppliers.
- Evaluate alternative delivery methods to help ensure success of Vertiv’s liquid cooling services using expertise in other functional areas of the organization, such as Engineering, Offering and Field Execution. Establish and implement processes with a focus on hand-offs between functional areas to drive customer satisfaction.
- Work to build and modify existing Liquid Cooling services to adapt to the quickly changing landscape of direct‑to‑chip cooling. Ensure issues are resolved promptly and communicated to stakeholders, including both process and technical engineering solutions.
- Support Vertiv’s existing liquid cooling program reporting and customer KPI's. Document remediation efforts clearly and raise lab tests that are out of set parameters.
- Proven record of executing complex mechanical and electrical projects or service programs.
- Ability to read and understand project mechanical drawings and scope documents. Identify key points to ensure Vertiv Service meets its deliverables and maintains a good relationship with our customer while providing value.
- Experience working with remote technicians and dealing with conflict resolution with contractors and customers.
- Respect the need and value for process, training, and governance, but understand when to raise and adjust a process because the situation dictates it.
- Apply lessons learned to current and future projects.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering discipline, Business or equivalent field services experience
- 5+ years of service or installation field or management experience, critical infrastructure expertise with thermal cooling systems and monitoring is a plus. Knowledge of construction and mechanical systems is a plus. Knowledge of engineering, data center infrastructure and commissioning processes is also helpful.
- A high degree of communication, problem solving and customer service skills are required.
