AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. We support all AWS data centers and the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that ensure continual access to our services. Within AIS and Data Center Engineering, the Mechanical Products and Services team drives rapid innovation in mechanical cooling and control systems, fundamentally transforming data center operations. This role offers the chance to lead a team developing next-generation liquid cooling infrastructure for AWS data centers.

Responsibilities

• Lead high-performance teams under challenging timelines
• Apply engineering judgment and data-driven problem-solving
• Utilize extensive mechanical engineering and liquid cooling expertise
• Collaborate with global suppliers and manufacturers on new technologies
• Build stakeholder relationships across reliability, operations, and compliance
• Manage multiple projects across geographies
• Communicate complex systems clearly
• Support operations with failure analysis, troubleshooting, and procedures
• Incorporate customer feedback for product improvement
• Contribute to global knowledge and continuous improvement

Qualifications

Basic: Bachelor's in mechanical engineering or equivalent experience; 7+ years in data center design or related fields; 5+ years managing teams of 5-25 associates.

Preferred: Masters or PhD; experience managing undefined problems and influencing strategy; deep understanding of liquid cooling in data centers.

Additional Information

Intermittent travel (~30%) expected, including domestic and international trips.
