Job summary

University of California, Irvine seeks a non-senate Assistant Adjunct Professor to lead the Lipid Nanoparticle Core Facility, collaborate with researchers, and develop externally funded programs in genetic medicine and vaccine research.

The role includes teaching, mentorship of medical and graduate students, and service in an academic medical center. Salary is commensurate with rank and step, with eligibility for the Health Sciences Compensation Plan.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in Biomedical Sciences, Biochemistry, or related field.
• Expertise in genetic medicines, nanoparticles, and vaccine research.
• Extensive immunology research experience.
• Experience supervising graduate students and postdocs.
• Experience with liposome/LNP formulation and gene delivery in vivo.
• Ability to train and advise others.

Responsibilities

• Manage Lipid Nanoparticle Core Facility and interface with the GMP Facility.
• Collaborate with scientists across the School of Medicine and the UCI campus.
• Develop extramurally funded research programs.
• Provide leadership in genetic medicine and vaccine research.
• Mentor medical and graduate students, residents, fellows, and faculty.
