Job summary

Hudson Manpower seeks a Linux/UNIX Systems Engineer with 2–4 years of hands-on experience to support, administer, and maintain Linux/UNIX environments. The role requires familiarity with cloud platforms, automation tools, and DevOps practices, with relocation within the United States based on project needs.

You will install, monitor, and optimize servers, scripts, and configurations, and collaborate with DevOps, Cloud, Networking, and Security teams on modern infrastructure initiatives.

Qualifications

• 2–4 years of experience in Linux/UNIX System Administration.
• Strong knowledge of RHEL/CentOS/Ubuntu/SUSE or similar.
• Scripting in Shell/Bash; Python is a plus.
• Knowledge of Linux networking, storage, permissions, and file systems.
• Experience with virtualization technologies.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Exposure to CI/CD tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI, or GitHub Actions.
• Experience with configuration management tools (Ansible, Puppet, Chef).
• Understanding of Docker and Kubernetes preferred.
• Experience with Git version control and problem solving.

Job Overview

We are seeking motivated Linux/UNIX Systems Engineers with 2–4 years of hands‑on experience supporting, administering, and maintaining Linux/UNIX environments. The ideal candidate should have experience working with modern infrastructure technologies, cloud platforms, automation tools, and DevOps practices. Candidates must be open to relocating anywhere within the United States based on project requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, configure, administer, and troubleshoot Linux/UNIX servers.


• Perform system monitoring, performance tuning, patching, and upgrades.


• Support production and non-production Linux environments.


• Automate routine administrative tasks using Shell, Bash, or Python scripting.


• Work with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.

Required Skills

• 2–4 years of experience in Linux/UNIX System Administration.


• Strong knowledge of Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL), CentOS, Ubuntu, SUSE, or other UNIX/Linux distributions.


• Experience with Shell/Bash scripting; Python is a plus.


• Knowledge of Linux networking, storage, permissions, and file systems.


• Experience with virtualization technologies.


• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).


• Exposure to CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, or GitHub Actions.


• Experience with configuration management tools like Ansible, Puppet, or Chef.


• Understanding of Docker and Kubernetes is highly preferred.


• Experience with Git version control.


• Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills.


• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Exposure to Infrastructure as Code (Terraform or CloudFormation).


• Knowledge of monitoring tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, Nagios, Splunk, or ELK.


• Linux certifications (RHCSA, RHCE, LPIC) are a plus.


• Experience working in Agile environments.
