Space Coast Credit Union (SCCU) in Miramar, FL, is seeking a Systems Engineer II to design, implement, maintain, and secure enterprise Linux platforms. The role focuses on Red Hat Enterprise Linux across on-prem, virtual, and cloud-hosted environments within a regulated financial services setting.

Successful candidates will have 5–8 years of Linux admin experience, a 4-year degree or equivalent, and strong scripting skills (Bash, Python, Ansible).

Qualifications

• 5 to 8 years of Linux systems administration in enterprise environments.
• 4-year degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field preferred; equivalent combinations considered.
• Experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux, server patching, security hardening, scripting, and virtualization support.

Responsibilities

• Administer, maintain, and troubleshoot enterprise Linux servers, focusing on Red Hat Enterprise Linux with knowledge of Ubuntu.
• Install, patch, upgrade, and harden Linux OS and core services across dev/test/prod.
• Manage performance, availability, capacity, and health with monitoring, tuning, logs, and maintenance.
• Implement security controls: users/groups, SSH, sudo, PAM, SELinux, firewall, cert updates, vulnerability remediation.
• Automate provisioning, patching, configuration management, health checks, using Bash, Python, Ansible, or similar tools.
• Provide advanced troubleshooting and root cause analysis for infrastructure incidents affecting OS, middleware, storage, network, or security.
