AMERICAN SYSTEMS is seeking a Linux Systems Administrator I to support enterprise-level Linux-based systems, focusing on installation, configuration, testing, and management of RHEL environments across our IT architecture.

The role emphasizes information security, incident management, compliance audits, and collaboration with CAB, with opportunities to work on monitoring tools like SolarWinds and Splunk, and to gain exposure to CIP in air-gapped settings.

Qualifications

• U.S. citizenship required.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
• Ability to pass federal background investigation and obtain Public Trust.
• Strong Linux expertise with CLI and networking basics.
• Experience with Bash or Python scripting.
• Willingness to travel between customer sites.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, patch, and monitor Linux systems, primarily RHEL.
• Configure and manage Red Hat Satellite servers and repositories.
• Provide end-user and application support through incident management.
• Assist with compliance audits during patch cycles and CAB coordination.
• Use SolarWinds Orion and Splunk for real-time monitoring and alerting.
• Assist in configuring IDM, Ansible, MFA, and baseline OS images.
• Support CIP compliance for air-gapped servers.
• Provide legacy support for older RHEL applications.
• Assist with certificate management and FISMA updates.
