Job summary

Leidos is seeking a Linux System Administrator to support DISA's GSM-O II contract at Ford Island, Hawaii. The role focuses on maintaining multi-user Red Hat Linux systems, with Windows Server on a global network management system, plus involvement with cloud environments and server farms.

The position requires active Top Secret clearance, DoD 8750 IAT II certification, and experience with VMware vCenter, SAN/NAS, and scripting.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline; 8+ years Unix/Red Hat experience (degree may be substituted).
Experience with VMware vCenter and related products.
Experience integrating NM and EM with network performance, tickets, and security subsystems.
Experience with enclave Ethernet switches, SAN, NAS.
Shell scripting (bash) and other languages (Perl).
Apply security settings and DISA STIGS.
Active Top Secret clearance is required.
DoD 8750 certification at least IAT level II (e.g., Security+ CE).
Experience in AWS cloud environments.

Responsibilities

Maintain the smooth operation of a multi-user computer system, coordinating with network admins.
Set up administrator and service accounts; tune performance; install system-wide software; allocate mass storage.
Interact with users and evaluate vendor products; recommend hardware/software purchases; coordinate installation; provide backups.
Develop and monitor policies for allocation of computing resources; create and maintain documentation and SOPs.
Provide coaching and review work of lower-level staff.
Provide on-call, extended hours, and weekend support as required by mission or emergency situations.
