Overview

Edgewater Federal Solutions is currently seeking a Linux Systems Administrator to provide support at a major national laboratory located in Albuquerque, NM or Livermore, CA. The role involves patching and security compliance, administering Linux servers, and supporting a team in designing and maintaining complex systems.

Responsibilities

• Support a team that designs, implements, maintains, and supports enterprise-class, highly available, scalable, and secure information systems and applications.
• Under minimal direction, troubleshoot centralized and distributed physical and virtual Linux servers; configure, operate, and maintain information processing and telecommunication systems, analyzing performance statistics to support tuning, automation, and optimization activities.
• Administer Linux servers, including patching, security compliance, and troubleshooting customer issues.
• Participate in customer projects to provide technical expertise in system upgrades, improvements, adherence to security requirements, and infrastructure enhancements.

Qualifications

• US Citizenship.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a DOE Security Clearance throughout the life of the contract.
• Minimum 3–5 years of experience in Linux server management and troubleshooting (system setup, account management, file services, network configuration, license management, application hosting, and end‑user application support).
• Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
• Relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.

Preferred Skills

• Prior classified support experience, STIG (Security Technical Implementation Guidance) compliance, VMware, Splunk, scripting, and vendor interfacing.
