Job summary

TENAX Technologies, LLC is seeking a Linux System Administrator to provide high-level technical support at Aberdeen Proving Ground. The role covers Linux infrastructure, incident response, RMF security, and system hardening in a 24x7 environment.

The ideal candidate has 1–2 years in tech support with Linux, plus Security+ and Linux certifications, and the ability to communicate complex issues clearly. In-person work with comprehensive benefits is offered.

Qualifications

• Associate or bachelor's degree in IT or related field, or two years of IT experience.
• 1–2 years in technical support/helpdesk, with at least 1 year on Linux.
• Certifications: CompTIA Security+ or IAT level II; Linux certs (RHCSA/LPIC) or equivalent.
• Strong Linux knowledge (RedHat/CentOS/Debian) and network protocols (DNS, HTTP, LDAP, SMTP, SNMP).
• Experience with Active Directory, Kerberos, PAM, SSSD and software installations from various sources.
• Strong customer service and the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users.
• Ability to work independently and in a team; familiarity with RMF and security controls is a plus.
• Familiarity with virtualization (Nutanix) and Ansible or Puppet is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Proactively maintain and develop all Linux infrastructure to ensure 24/7 uptime.
• Manage software upgrades and patches on workstations; integrate new hardware and software.
• Collaborate across teams to implement automation and deployment processes.
• Develop and maintain RMF security controls and supporting documentation.
• Analyze logs and performance data to report exceptions and improve stability.
• Support security incidents, vulnerability assessments, and information assurance scans.
• Maintain system evaluations and certifications; manage Identity and Device Management.
• Provide platform administration for Linux-based applications and improve environment scalability.
