Job summary

Elevate Technology Group in Fairfax, VA is seeking a Linux Systems Administrator to support enterprise Linux environments across on-prem and cloud, ensuring reliability for critical missions.

The role offers opportunities to work with modern cloud-native technologies and collaborate with engineering teams to advance automation, security, and scalability, while maintaining TS clearance.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting enterprise-scale Linux environments.
• Strong scripting skills in Bash or Python.
• Solid networking fundamentals including subnets and VLANs.
• Experience with virtualization and cloud-based platforms.
• Knowledge of system security, hardening and vulnerability remediation.
• Proven troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
• Security+ or CISSP certification preferred.
• Experience with Kubernetes, Docker, and containerized environments.
• Familiarity with Puppet or GitLab for configuration management.
• Experience with enterprise storage technologies like SAN/Fibre Channel.

Salary: $130,000 - $220,000 + Exceptional Benefits (Total Compensation up to $330,000)

Clearance: Active TS clearance with SCI eligibility

We're supporting a highly regarded technology organization delivering critical solutions across the US Intelligence and National Security community, who are searching for a Linux Systems Administrator.

As demand across several long-standing programs continues to grow, they are looking to add a Linux Systems Administrator to their Fairfax, VA team. This is an opportunity to work within a large-scale enterprise environment supporting infrastructure that underpins some of the most technically challenging and important missions.

The role offers exposure to both traditional enterprise platforms and modern cloud-native technologies, making it ideal for someone who enjoys solving complex infrastructure problems while continuing to develop their technical skillset.

What We're Looking For

• Experience supporting enterprise-scale infrastructure environments
• Scripting and automation skills using Bash, Python or similar
• Understanding of networking fundamentals including switching, subnets and VLANs
• Experience working with virtualized environments
• Knowledge of system security, hardening and vulnerability remediation
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities
• Security+ or CISSP certification
• Kubernetes, Docker or containerized environments
• Cloud platforms and cloud-native architectures
• Puppet, GitLab or other configuration management tools
• GPFS / IBM ESS
• Directory services administration
• Enterprise storage technologies including SAN and Fibre Channel

Clearance Requirement

Applicants must hold an active TS clearance with SCI eligibility. Candidates already holding TS/SCI are strongly encouraged to apply.
