Job summary

Elevate Technology Group is seeking a Linux System Administrator to join our Fairfax, VA team, supporting mission-critical systems across US Intelligence and National Security programs. The role offers exposure to enterprise Linux environments and cloud-native technologies.

You will administer and maintain Linux-based infrastructure across physical, virtual, and cloud platforms, perform OS upgrades, patching, security remediation, and contribute to automation with scripting.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting enterprise-scale infrastructure environments.
• Scripting and automation skills using Bash, Python or similar.
• Understanding of networking fundamentals including switching, subnets and VLANs.
• Experience working with virtualized environments.
• Knowledge of system security, hardening and vulnerability remediation.

Responsibilities

• Administering and supporting enterprise Linux environments
• Maintaining infrastructure across physical, virtual and cloud-based platforms
• Managing operating system upgrades, patching and security remediation
• Monitoring system performance, availability and capacity
• Troubleshooting hardware, operating system and network-related issues
• Supporting application deployments and infrastructure enhancements
• Building, testing and validating new server environments
• Working closely with engineering teams to improve automation, reliability and scalability

Salary: $130,000 - $220,000 + Benefits (Total Compensation up to $330,000)

Clearance: Active TS clearance

As demand across several long-standing programs continues to grow, they are looking to add a Linux System Administrator to their Fairfax, VA team. This is an opportunity to work in a large-scale enterprise environment supporting infrastructure that underpins some of the most technically challenging and important missions.

The role offers exposure to both traditional enterprise platforms and modern cloud-native technologies, making it ideal for someone who enjoys solving complex infrastructure problems while continuing to develop their technical skillset.

What We're Looking For

• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities
• Security+ or CISSP certification
• Kubernetes, Docker or containerized environments
• Cloud platforms and cloud-native architectures
• Puppet, GitLab or other configuration management tools
• GPFS / IBM ESS
• Directory services administration
• Enterprise storage technologies including SAN and Fibre Channel

Clearance Requirement

Applicants must hold an active TS clearance with SCI eligibility.
