Job summary

Set of X in Columbia, MD, is hiring a Linux System Administrator to support our prime government contract. All positions require an active clearance. You will work with owners and admins to understand systems, fix issues, and help transition to a consolidated architecture.

The role requires extensive RedHat/CentOS/UNIX experience, NiFi data flows, VMware and containerization. A TS/SCI clearance with polygraph is required.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in System Administration.
• Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline; 5 years SA substitution allowed.

Responsibilities

• Understand existing systems, requirements and problem areas with current owners.
• Provide input for long-term architecture and design.
• Fix critical problems or implement stop-gap solutions during transition to consolidated architecture.
• Translate requirements into scalable, long-term solutions.
• Implement and support final solution(s).
• Participate in internal engineering and strategy meetings.
• Build direct customer relationships to improve feedback loop.

Set of X is hiring for a Linux System Administrator to support our prime contract.

Responsibilities

• Work with current owners and administrators to understand existing systems, requirements, and problem areas.
• Provide direct input for organization long-term efforts and visions for future architecture and design.
• Provide system administration functions to fix critical problems or implement stop-gap solutions as part of the transition to the new consolidated architecture.
• Translate existing requirements and use-cases of current systems into scalable and supportable long-term solutions.
• Implement and support final solution(s).
• Participate in frequent internal engineering and strategy team meetings.
• Build direct customer relationships to improve organizational feedback loop.

Required Skills

• Extensive RedHat (RHEL), CentOs Linux, and/or UNIX experience.
• Experience managing NiFi data flows.
• Experience with VMWare or associate technologies (ESX, NSX, VSAN, KVM, Nutanix or other).
• Experience with containerization

Desired Skills

• RHCSA (Red Hat Certified System Administrator) and/or RHCE (Red Hat Certified Engineer) certification.

Experience/Education

10+ experience in System Administration

Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline from an accredited college or university is required. Five (5) years of additional SA experience may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree.

Clearance

TS/SCI clearance with polygraph is required.
