Job summary

E&M Technologies, Inc. is seeking a Linux System Administrator to join our team in Chantilly, VA, supporting the NGA. This role requires a Top Secret/SCI clearance and US citizenship. You will design and support cloud initiatives, manage user accounts, and harden infrastructure across multiple Linux environments.

You’ll work with JIRA, Confluence, RocketChat and AWS, with a focus on security and compliance in a government contracting setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field with 2–4 years of experience.
• Security+ certification.
• U.S. citizenship required.
• Must have and be capable of maintaining a DoD security clearance at the required level.
• Experience with AWS (S3, EC2, Reserved Instances).
• Experience with Jira, Confluence, RocketChat.

• Manage several environments as a Linux SME providing overall support to the program and working with Enterprise Services to ensure compliance with security services and applications.

The NGA delivers world-class geospatial intelligence that provides a decisive advantage to policymakers, military service members, intelligence professionals, and first responders.

Job Responsibilities

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related discipline plus 2‑4 years of professional experience as a Systems Administrator or similar technical role.
• Security+ Certified.
• Proactive self‑starter demonstrating a positive, willing attitude and excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Two or more years of experience with Amazon Web Services (S3 Buckets, EC2, Reserved Instances, etc.).
• Familiar with System Engineering documentation creation (VDDs, network diagrams, data flows, etc.).
• Experience working with Agile Team Collaboration tools such as Jira, Confluence, RocketChat.
• Strong Linux background and familiarity with best practices of infrastructure management.
• All candidates must be US CITIZENS to be considered for the position.
• Must have and be capable of maintaining a U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) security clearance at the required level.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with AWS and other cloud vendors.
• Experience with Amazon Web Services technical performance versus cost management.
• Experience with cloud-based architectures.

Salary Description

Up to $95K USD

The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. E&M considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Hired applicants may be eligible for benefits, including but not limited to, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, long-term disability, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, flexible work schedules, parental leave, paid time off, and holidays. Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement.

This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
