Linux Software Engineer L1 - TS/SCI Poly required

Annapolis Junction, MD

Looking for an innovative, motivated individual to join a small, talented, and hardworking Linux team in a hybrid cloud environment. This team creates, maintains, and troubleshoots Linux instances across multiple networks and architectures. The ideal candidate will have hands-on Python scripting experience, Linux administration experience, and knowledge of AWS Cloud technologies is a plus. Candidate must work well in a small team setting, have a desire to automate processes where possible, and a willingness to think outside the box to find solutions.

Linux Software Engineer L1 opportunity:

1. Seven (7) years experience as a Software Engineer, in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity is required. A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related discipline from an accredited college or university is required. Four (4) years of additional Software Engineering experience on projects with similar software processes may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree. Certifications: Compliance with DoD 8570.01-M with a minimum certification of IAM Level I (CAP, CND, Cloud+, GSLC, Security+ CE, HCISPP).
2. TS/SCI clearance with FS Poly required.
3. Required skills:

• Recent, relevant, and demonstrable experience with Python.
• Ability to create Python scripts from scratch as well as modify existing scripts.
• Experience with automating repetitive tasks with Bash and Python scripts.
• Self-motivated and willing to learn new technologies.
• Ability to communicate issues with team members and/or service owners.

Desired skills:

• Experience performing Linux server administration tasks including configuring, patching, monitoring, troubleshooting, etc.
• Experience with Puppet and Ansible.
• Experience with AWS EC2 Auto Scaling.
• Experience with aws-cli and boto3.

Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $90,000 – $120,000 annually.
