Job summary

NWU is offering a student internship focused on building and maturing Linux-based software delivery pipelines and adopting AI engineering practices. You will contribute to Linux and Elixir development projects while learning hands-on in DevOps, cybersecurity, and tooling enhancements.

The role emphasizes collaboration with experienced engineers and exposure to security practices, vulnerability remediation, and modern development workflows within an international environment.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Cybersecurity, or related field.
• Basic understanding of Linux operating systems and software development concepts.
• Familiarity with programming fundamentals and software engineering best practices.
• Interest in DevOps, CI/CD, AI-assisted development, or cybersecurity.
• Ability to learn quickly and collaborate in a team.
• Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
• Exposure to Linux development environments via projects or personal work.
• Knowledge of scripting languages such as Python, C/C++, Elixir or similar.
• Understanding of security concepts, vulnerability management, or software quality practices.
• Experience with Git, automation tools, or cloud-based development environments is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Support the development and maturation of software delivery pipelines for Linux-based products.
• Assist in the adoption of AI engineering and development practices within engineering infrastructure and tooling.
• Contribute to projects focused on Linux and Elixir development environments.
• Help identify, track, and support remediation activities related to security vulnerabilities.
• Assist in improving security tooling and processes that strengthen the security posture of products.
• Collaborate with experienced engineers while gaining hands-on exposure to software development, DevOps, AI engineering, and cybersecurity practices.
