Job summary

Iceberg is seeking a highly technical engineering leader with deep Linux expertise to direct a security-focused team in a hybrid NYC setting. The role requires hands-on leadership and the ability to contribute to architecture and security strategy.

You will guide engineers working on kernel security, system hardening, privilege management, and OS security controls within a complex, highly customised infrastructure. Domestic relocation is supported, with a strong emphasis on staying technical.

Job description

I'm looking for someone who has grown up engineering in Linux environments, developed genuinely deep expertise in Linux operating systems, and throughout their career has moved into Linux security and platform security engineering.

Importantly, I'm not looking for someone who has moved completely away from the technology into management.

I need an engineering leader who is still deeply technical today, understands Linux at the operating-system level, and can lead a team of strong engineers working on complex security challenges.

The non-negotiables:

• Deep, current Linux engineering experience, ideally developed over many years working directly with Linux systems.
• Strong Linux security engineering expertise, including areas such as kernel security, system hardening, privilege management, isolation and operating-system security controls.
• Proven engineering management experience, including directly managing, mentoring and developing software or platform engineers.
• Strong software engineering foundations, with the ability to contribute meaningfully to architecture, technical design and engineering decisions.
• Experience building or improving security capabilities in complex, highly customised infrastructure environments.

Compensation is exceptionally competitive, with a heavily cash-weighted package comprising base salary, multiple bonus components and guaranteed first-year cash compensation.

New York City | Hybrid — 3 days onsite

Candidates must already be based in the United States. Domestic relocation support is available, but international relocation is not supported.
