Qualifications

  • Relevant Bachelor’s Degree and 5+ years of experience or equivalent education/experience.
  • Master’s Degree with 3+ years of experience or equivalent education/experience.
  • PhD or equivalent education/experience.
  • Strong leadership and project management skills.
  • Solid foundation in Linux systems engineering, storage engineering, and data systems architecture.
  • Experience with Network Attached Storage solutions.
  • Experience with backup software.
  • Scripting languages such as Python, PERL, Bash.

In this role, the incumbent will install, configure, and support storage-related products (hardware and software) and services for advanced computing efforts. The primary focus of the storage engineering effort supports data intensive activities utilizing object storage, block storage, distributed file systems and cloud storage services. The center focuses on providing optimal solutions to high throughput, high volume data management capabilities. The position will help determine optimal hardware and software configurations and stay abreast of new technologies and techniques for storage services.This is a hybrid position with at least 3 days a week onsite at NLR..Basic QualificationsRelevant Bachelor's Degree and 5 or more years of experience or equivalent relevant education/experience. Or, relevant Master's Degree and 3 or more years of experience or equivalent relevant education/experience. Or, relevant PhD or equivalent relevant education/experience. Complete understanding and wide application of principles, concepts and techniques in specific field. General knowledge of related IS disciplines. Strong leadership and project management skills. Skilled in analytical techniques, practices and problem solving. Advanced programming, design and analysis abilities with various computer software programs and information systems.Eligibility requirements: This position will require access to sensitive information, Government facilities, and/or Government information systems restricted to individuals with US citizenship.
