Job summary

Jobtailor in Boston seeks an Infrastructure Engineer to automate, deploy, and maintain infrastructure using Ansible and related tools. You will build, implement, and support services that ensure infrastructure reliability and performance.

You will work with AWS-native and on-premises solutions, design and implement CI/CD pipelines, write code and scripts, and troubleshoot complex issues across development, test, and production environments. Experience with HPC and VMware is a plus.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience as an Infrastructure Engineer or similar.
• Strong understanding of DevOps and Site Reliability (SRE) frameworks.
• Expert knowledge of Linux operating systems and networks.
• Expert knowledge of scripting languages (Shell, Python).
• Experience with on-premises and cloud-native infrastructures.

• VMware experience is a plus.
• HPC systems experience (Grid Engine/Slurm) is a plus.

• Build, implement, and support tools and services that maintain infrastructure and service reliability
• Work with AWS-native, open-source, third-party, and custom solutions
• Design and implement CI/CD pipelines to automate tasks and consistently deploy infrastructure and applications

• Support compute and storage needs for High Performance Compute environments on premises and in the cloud

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience working as an Infrastructure Engineer or similar
• Conceptual knowledge and understanding of DevOps and Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) frameworks
• Expert knowledge of Linux operating system fundamentals, including multiple distributions, building software from source, and network-attached filesystems
• Expert knowledge of one or more programming and scripting languages; Shell scripting and Python preferred
• Expert knowledge of on-premises and cloud-native infrastructures
• Expert knowledge of navigating a TCP/IP-based environment
• Security-first mindset
• Good written communication skills
• Experience in a VMware environment is a plus
