Job summary

Tower Research Capital, a leading quantitative trading firm, seeks an experienced Linux/HPC engineer to maintain and scale our trading Linux infrastructure and research HPC systems in New York. You will collaborate with trading and engineering teams to keep a high-performance platform running.

Responsibilities include rapid incident response, deployment of planned changes, and automation of provisioning, configuration, and monitoring for thousands of Linux servers, plus managing core services

Qualifications

• Experience in maintenance, operation, and administration of a Linux environment.
• Daily use of and contribution to automating and monitoring tools.

Responsibilities

• Support, maintain, and enhance trading Linux infrastructure.
• Support, maintain, and enhance HPC infrastructure for research.
• Provide Linux/HPC support including emergency response.
• Execute planned changes, updates, and deployment projects within the Linux server infrastructure.
• Manage HPC systems to support trading operations and Condor Job scheduler.
• Advanced profiling and troubleshooting of performance issues within Linux servers.
• Develop tools to automate provisioning, configuration, and monitoring of thousands of Linux servers.
• Manage core services such as DHCP, LDAP, DNS, and NFS across data centers and clouds.
• Participate in on-call rotation and weekend shifts.
• Engage in daily communication with trading teams and core engineering.
• Stay up-to-date with HPC, storage, and GPU computing best practices.
