Job Responsibility:

What success looks like in this role:

• Manage all aspects of OEL 7/8 and RHEL 7/8 virtual and physical servers including; upgrades, patching, troubleshooting, resolving, designing, communicating, analyzing system logs, managing network, volume, and storage configurations, hardening systems to CIS Benchmarks, configuration management, and system monitoring.
• Willing to perform rotational on-call support and/or non-standard working hours in a 24x7/365 operational environment
• Support workloads in AWS and OCI
• Cloud Native Backup/Restores
• Cloud Networking (VPC, VCN, Load Balancers, Security Groups)
• Cloud Storage Support (S3/Block Volumes/Boot Volumes)
• DBaaS
• Design and solve complex problems with automation first techniques.
• Write system scripts for daily administration and have the ability to document system infrastructure including Ansible playbooks
• Install, test, configure, customize, and maintain various data center facility support systems.
• Monitor and maintain system performance, capacity, availability, and tune as needed.
• Develop, maintain, and document programs or scripts to perform systems/platform maintenance using enterprise frameworks in at least one of a variety of languages
• Participates in Post-Incident Reviews to document lessons learned to create/update automation/tooling.
• Analyze system logs and identify and remediate issues with systems.
• Create, maintain, and execute scripts to perform routine maintenance.
• Perform patch/fix research and software upgrades through service packs or other software bundling methodologies.
• Monitor and maintain system performance, capacity, availability and perform tuning as needed.
• Configure, customize, and optimize clustering or other high availability solutions to support failover and/or disaster recovery.
• Utilize automation tools and frameworks following organizational standards.
• Develop solutions leading to improvements.
• Utilize methods for identifying opportunities for improvement.
• Perform system backups and recovery in Public Cloud environments.
• Support configuration management via Ansible.
• Supports server automation using Ansible/Puppet.
• Document and perform changes and resolve incidents and problems.
• Provide knowledge transfer documentation to team members or the client as required
• Support various virtualization technologies to include OCC/PCA/Public Cloud.

You will be successful in this role if you have:

• University degree or equivalent education and experience combination.
• Minimum of 5 years relevant experience
• Experience supporting OCI/AWS IaaS (required).
• RHEL/OEL Server Installation
• RHEL/OEL Server Patching
• RHEL/OEL Server Security
• Experience working with other Linux OS preferred
• Experience supporting/managing Oracle PCA preferred
• System Internals
• Scripting (PowerShell, Visual Basic, etc.)
• Performance Tuning
• Experience working in a data center supporting host systems.
• Ability to work with customers and other technical teams.
• Knowledge of standard networking ports and protocols.
• Ability to follow documented patch management procedures/solutions.
• Have specific certifications on the respective domain, platform or application (Either AWS or OCI required).
• Ability to support multiple clients/ technologies as part of shared support delivery.
• Must be client focused, display interpersonal skills and be an effective team member.
• Ability to train and develop staff and/or client.
