Job summary

Wind River is seeking a Linux Development Engineer to join the eLxr team and advance our Debian‑based Linux distribution. You will build system components, create Debian packages, automate pipelines, and collaborate with open‑source projects to deliver reliable Linux platform capabilities for mission‑critical intelligent systems.

You will contribute Python, Go, Bash, C, and C++ software, maintain CI/CD pipelines (GitLab/GitHub), and work with cross‑functional teams to support platform

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in Linux systems development or distribution engineering.
• Hands‑on experience with Linux distributions, preferably Debian‑based.
• Experience contributing to or maintaining open‑source software projects.
• Programming in Python, Go, Bash, C, or C++.
• Experience developing or maintaining CI/CD pipelines using GitLab CI or GitHub Actions.
• Strong understanding of Linux fundamentals, command‑line tools, and debugging.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and enhance system components for the eLxr Debian‑based Linux distribution.
• Create, update, and maintain Debian packages throughout the distribution lifecycle.
• Contribute patches, bug fixes, and feature enhancements to open‑source projects and communities.
• Develop high‑quality, maintainable software using Python, Go, Bash, C, and C++.
• Build and maintain GitLab CI or GitHub Actions pipelines to automate builds, testing, and deployments.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues across Linux user‑space and low‑level components.
• Document development processes, design decisions, and implementations.
• Partner with cross‑functional teams to support platform integration and feature delivery.
