Job summary

Markesman Group is seeking a software engineer to design, develop, test, and maintain Linux-based capabilities for CNO missions. You will code in C/C++ and Python on Linux, working with system internals, networking, and measurement interfaces, based in Fort Meade, MD.

The role focuses on debugging with GDB, collaborating with researchers and analysts, and delivering robust, production-ready software through rigorous testing and documentation.

Qualifications

• Experience developing software in Linux environments.
• Strong C/C++ development experience.
• Experience with Python and Bash scripting.
• Solid understanding of Linux OS concepts.
• Knowledge of TCP/IP, sockets, and networking.
• Experience debugging with tools such as GDB.
• Experience with Git or other software configuration management tools.
• Ability to analyze complex technical problems and develop effective software solutions.
• Ability to work independently as well as within a collaborative technical team.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain Linux-based software for CNO missions.
• Develop in C/C++ and Python for Linux environments.
• Work with OS internals, networking, memory, and interfaces.
• Develop software that interacts with protocols and targets.
• Debug with Linux tools and diagnose complex issues.
• Perform analysis, testing, and R&D for mission requirements.
• Develop prototypes and transition to production-ready software.
• Collaborate with researchers, reverse engineers, analysts, and developers across the lifecycle.
• Participate in code reviews, configuration management, testing, and releases.
• Support existing CNO capabilities with troubleshooting and updates.
