Job summary

Education Industry in Miami is seeking a Linux Administrator with HPC experience to support AI clusters and research computing tools. The role covers HPC cluster management, VDI, Cloud server management, and storage systems. Experience with grant-funded research environments is highly preferred.

The candidate will handle Linux-based enterprise servers, backups, software install, and HPC scheduling systems while collaborating with a central IT organization. Hybrid onsite 3 days per week.

Qualifications

• Strong Linux systems administration experience in HPC environments.
• Experience with AI clusters and research computing tools.
• Experience supporting grant-funded research environments preferred.
• Familiarity with configuration management and provisioning.
• Storage systems experience, especially Lustre.
• Backup and software installation capabilities.
• Windows system administration experience acceptable with Linux focus.
• Experience with HPC scheduling systems, VMs, and VM management.

Responsibilities

• Administers and supports Linux-based enterprise server environments including HPC cluster management.
• Manage HPC job scheduler and back-end services like file sharing and storage.
• Perform installations, patches, performance monitoring and tuning.
• Provide support for cloud computing and VDI, VCL Cloud, and virtualization.
• Assist with logging nodes and parallel file systems deployment.

• Administers and supports Linux based enterprise server environments. This includes, but is not limited to, HPC cluster management, VDI, Cloud server management, Linux web servers, NFS servers, VCL Cloud, Linux Satellite servers, VMWare virtualization Environment, and load testing tools. Performs installations and testing patches, applications, performance monitoring and tuning.
• Provides support in the management, tuning, operating systems, parallel file systems, automating deployment of compute nodes, managing and tuning, login nodes, and HPC scheduling systems.
• Provides technical support for servers, operating systems and applications, including Cloud Computing, for the entire Enterprise as found in a central IT organization.
• Manages HPC job scheduler.
• Manages the back-end support servers or services such as file sharing, database technologies and storage systems as needed.
