Silgan Closures in Champaign, IL is seeking a Lining Technician to operate, inspect, and maintain high-speed lining equipment to produce safe, high‑quality closures for food and beverage brands.

This 12‑hour night shift (5:45 am–6:00 pm) on a 2‑2‑3 schedule includes weekly pay, overtime opportunities, and comprehensive benefits such as medical, dental, vision, life insurance, 401(k) with match, and pension.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 2+ years of experience in a manufacturing role.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
• Ability to work individually in a fast-paced production environment.

Responsibilities

• Reset and calibrate vision systems at the start of each shift.
• Verify all materials align with the daily production schedule.
• Use precision tools to take and record closure measurements.
• Perform visual quality inspections on closures.
• Monitor control panels and detect equipment jams or malfunctions.
• Make mechanical adjustments and repairs to equipment.
• Make basic mechanical adjustments and minor repairs as needed.
• Document production performance and communicate with the next shift.
• Maintain a clean, organized and safe environment.

In this hands‑on manufacturing role, you’ll operate, inspect, and maintain high-speed lining equipment to ensure the production of safe, high‑quality closures used by popular food and beverage brands.
