Job summary

Drug Plastics Group is hiring for a Lining Mechanic to support the production of medicinal, wellness, and lifestyle products. You will adjust speeds, replace punches and dies, change glue heads, and calibrate tampers and cameras to ensure high accuracy and throughput.

The role requires hands-on experience with lining equipment, strong mechanical skills, and commitment to GMP and safety guidelines. Work environment is manufacturing, indoors with moderate noise.

Qualifications

  • Experience operating lining equipment and making adjustments to maximize productivity while adhering to quality standards.
  • Preventative maintenance on lining tools and equipment.
  • Ability to diagnose misalignment or off-center line issues and implement fixes.

Job description

ABOUTUS:

Major Areas of Responsibility Include
  • Perform complete, accurate and timely machine changeovers.
  • Troubleshoot lining machine problems and make complete, accurate and timely adjustments and repairs.
  • Ensure that all lining machines on which they perform their assigned responsibilities operate in the most efficient manner possible.
Specific Responsibilities
  • Correctly adjust the speed levels of all lining equipment and adjust the bowl feeder and cap hoppers in order to maintain maximum productivity consistent with quality standards and safe operation.
  • Correctly and efficiently pull and replace all punches and dies as necessary.
  • Correctly and efficiently change glue heads, tips, hoses or other defective components.
  • Correctly and efficiently adjust tampers and properly adjust cameras and other associated equipment such as conveyors, rail feeders, paper feeders and cap orienteers for maximum accuracy and effectiveness.
  • Diagnose and effectively solve off center line problems.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on all Lining Tools checking for wear, binding, unusual noises and other problems and performing all necessary cleaning, greasing and polishing operations.
  • Make minor repairs to cap location fingers and solve upside-down cap problems on liner feed systems.
  • Correctly and efficiently diagnose the need for punch and die sharpening.
  • Correctly and efficiently set-up and safely operate the surface grinder to perform tool sharpening.
  • Maintain all equipment and work areas in a clean and organized manner.
  • Undertake personal responsibility to become and remain fully qualified to perform all aspects of the position as outlined in the Job Competencies for the Position of Lining Mechanic.
  • Follow safety guidelines, Company policies and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • While performing the responsibilities of the job, the employee is required to talk and hear.
  • The work performed by the employee is indoors.

  • The employee must have good motor skills and be able to continuously lift 5lbs. The employee must be able to lift and carry 55 lbs.
  • The employee is required to occasionally bend, squat and reach above shoulder level, as well as turn, twist, pull, and push.
  • Vision abilities for this job include close vision.
