Job summary

Welocalize is seeking a Linguistic QA Tester in Hebrew to proofread and edit localized content, ensuring grammar, typos, syntax, punctuation, and capitalization are correct.

You will sometimes translate content from English to your native language and check UIs for functional issues. The tester will conduct test cases, identify localization bugs, and report them via an internal bug tracking system, verifying fixes when implemented.

Qualifications

• Native-level fluency in candidate's native language (grammar, vocabulary, punctuation).
• Fluency in English (written and spoken).
• Experience with translation and localization testing.

Responsibilities

• Proofread and edit content localized to the candidate's language, fixing grammar, typos, punctuation, and spacing.
• Occasionally translate content from English to the native language.
• Check user interfaces for functional issues and verify fixes in bug-tracking systems.

MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB As a Linguistic QA Tester, you will primarily be proofreading and editing content already localized to your native language, making sure you catch any errors in the content, such as: grammar, typos, syntax, punctuation, capitalization, political incorrectness, inconsistencies, and extra spaces between words or characters.

You will sometimes be translating content from English to your native language.

You will also be checking UIs for functional issues.

Job DescriptionWelocalize is seeking QA Tester/Proofreader in Hebrew. You will be using devices to test a wide range of internally and externally facing applications and tools.

We are looking for a candidate with a background in: Marketing, Journalism, Copy Editing, Writing and/or Localization.

The tester will be conduct test cases, identify localization bugs, report them via an internal bug tracking system as well as verify the fixes once implemented.

Job requirements:

• Austin, TX (100% onsite, no remote work) W-2 (eligible for benefits based on hours worked) Monday-Friday (set hours)
• You must have a valid visa to work in the USA
• Native-level fluency in their respective language (grammar, vocabulary, composition, punctuation)
• Fluency in English (written and spoken)
• Experience working in translation
• Tech savvy, with experience testing web-based systems and applications on Mac OS X and iOS
• Ability to prioritize linguistic issues and distinguish between a true must-fix and a nice-to-have
• Experience working with test cases and test scripts
• Experience with bug tracking systems
• Ability to clearly articulate reproduction steps for a given issue and communicate critical information
• Strong problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Ability to work with very diverse teams
