SOSi seeks Portuguese or Dutch linguists to support translation, transcription, and interpretation tasks for a government customer in Reston, VA. The role involves monitoring intercepts, preparing English summaries, and handling transcripts with high accuracy, under tight deadlines.

The position requires fluency in Portuguese or Dutch, strong English skills, and the ability to obtain a Secret clearance. Typing speed and meticulous documentation are important aspects of the job.

Qualifications

• Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret level security clearance.
• Bachelor’s Degree or a minimum of 4 years of combined work and educational experience.
• Candidate must pass a language assessment in speaking, listening, reading, and writing in both native tongue and English.
• Excellent command of English with clear, concise oral and written communications.
• Portuguese or Dutch language fluency is required with verification of language skills.

Responsibilities

• Monitor intercepts and provide English summaries.
• Translate and transcribe audio/video and documents as required.
• Identify conversants using voice library or context of conversation.
• Prepare summaries with date/time and relevant information.
• Enter and sign gists and transcripts; maintain and witness files as required.
• Perform administrative duties and maintain slang glossary for communications.
• Ensure compliance with minimization procedures as per court regulations.
• Provide consecutive interpretation when requested by the supervisor.
