Job summary

Goldbelt Heritage Foundation (GHF) seeks a Lingít Language Program Intern, a paid, part-time role for college students focused on Indigenous language revitalization. Support the Lingít Language Department with program coordination, documentation, curriculum support, and community activities.

This 100% grant-funded internship offers hands-on experience, mentorship from language professionals, and opportunities to engage with Elders and educators while meeting college credit requirements.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a college or university.
• Experience with the Lingít language is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Language Program Support: assist Lingít classes, workshops, and immersion activities.
• Language & Community Engagement: support intergenerational language learning and community events.
• Administrative & Project Support: scheduling, recordkeeping, and file organization; data collection for reports.
• Learning Objectives & Professional Development: gain experience in Indigenous language revitalization and documentation practices.
• Community & Cultural Integration: collaborate with Elders, educators, speakers, learners and supporters.
