Job summary

UC Irvine is seeking a Linen Services Associate to support UCI Health facilities by ordering, receiving, distributing and delivering linen supplies across departments. You will create inventory records, perform counts and maintain clean, organized work areas to ensure uninterrupted patient care.

The role requires a valid California driver’s license, ability to lift heavy items, and availability for overtime, weekends, and a rotating schedule.

Qualifications

• Must possess and maintain a valid California driver’s license.
• Must be able to perform heavy manual tasks.
• Must be able to read, write and follow instructions in English.
• Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload.

Your Role on the Team

Position Summary

Incumbent orders, receives, distributes, and delivers linen supplies. Checks, sorts, marks, folds, wraps, packs and distributes linen. Cleans, and organizes the work areas. Picks up soiled linen from departments. Creates and maintains appropriate inventory documentation. Performs physical inventory counts.

Required Qualifications

What It Takes to be Successful

• Position is subject to the California DMV's "Pull Notice System" and continued employment is contingent upon proof of a satisfactory driving record.
• Must possess and maintain a valid California driver’s license
• Must be available to work overtime, weekends, and a rotating schedule to meet operational needs
• Must be able to perform heavy manual tasks
• Must be able to perform basic mathematical calculations
• Must be able to effectively communicate, read, write and follow verbal and written instructions in English
• Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of hospital MMIS system
• Knowledge of UCI policies and procedures
• Inventory management experience in a hospital, clinic or similar environment
