Job summary

Berks Libraries is seeking a laundry attendant to perform laundry tasks under minimal supervision and to handle linen distribution and delivery within the facility. You will operate washers, dryers, scales, and related equipment, ensuring items are properly sorted, bagged, hung, and stored for residents.

Requirements include being at least 18, fluent in English, and holding a valid Pennsylvania driver's license for vehicle operation.

Qualifications

• Experience in laundry work and operation of laundry equipment preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years of age with some knowledge of laundry operations.
• Must be able to read, write, and understand the English language fluently.
• Possession of a valid PA driver's license is required to operate County vehicles.
• Computer experience is helpful.
• Ability to handle stress.

Responsibilities

• Operates all laundry machinery which includes washers, dryers, scale, and on occasion County vehicles.
• Responsible for counting and properly distributing linen for delivery.
• Delivery of personal clothing to the residents' rooms. Responsible for hanging the garments in closets and placing bagged items in drawers.
• Performs related laundry tasks as required.
• May be required to maintain laundry facility records.
