General Summary of Position

Job Summary: MedStar Health is looking for a Linen/Laundry Aide to join our team at St. Mary's Hospital!

As a Linen/Laundry Aide, you will collect dirty linen, wash, dry, fold, and repair linen. Primary Duties:
  1. Operates washer and drying equipment to process linens, curtains, slings, etc., in a safe and efficient manner.
  2. Collects and transports all soiled linen from various departments to the dirty laundry area, using good body mechanics and safety practices.
  3. Packages soiled linen for transport to linen processing vendor after documenting and filing departmental weights.
  4. Stocks clean linen carts following established daily par levels for each department or area.
  5. Communicates linen replacement and chemical supply needs to department supervisor.
  6. Performs daily cleaning schedule in linen department in a safe and efficient manner.
  7. Reports any complaints to linen supervisor.
  8. Ensures stocked linen inventory is protected from soiling.
  9. Contributes to the achievement of established department goals and objectives and adheres to department policies, procedures, quality standards, and safety standards. Complies with governmental and accreditation regulations.
Qualifications:
  • Completion of the 10th grade required.
Minimum Qualifications

This position has a hiring range of $17.50 - $28.73.
