Job summary

VA North Texas Health Care System Environmental Management Service, Textile Care and Linen Distribution Section, is seeking a Linen Worker to handle receipt, storage, collection, and distribution of linen items across the Medical Center. The role includes managing the exchange cart system, keeping daily records, and supporting autoclaving and sterile processing workflows.

Incumbent will rotate through weekdays, weekends, holidays, and evenings, with responsibilities that include ensuring timely

Qualifications

• Experience evidence of training or experience of sufficient scope and quality to perform the duties; applicants rated by OPM standards.

Responsibilities

• Receive, store, collect, and distribute linen items for the Medical Center.
• Log linen distribution transactions and maintain receipts for tracking.
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of the Linen Room; report safety issues.
• Assist in loading/unloading linen and garments; deliver to units within required time.
• Participate in weekend/holiday/evening rotations and emergency duties.
• Inspect textiles for quality before storage and delivery.
• Release patient effects and coordinate with Ward/Head Nurse as needed.
