Position Title: Linen Assistant - 1st Shift

Wage: $15.61/hour

Shift: 1st

Hours: 7:00am - 3:30pm

Linen Assistant Responsibilities:

1. Sort soiled lines as they come into the plant and place them into proper areas.
2. Unload clean laundry from the dryer.
3. Feed clean laundry into the press machine.
4. Spray the carts with disinfectant and wipe down carts with a towel.
5. Take material from baskets and shake out creases.
6. Position semi-dry flatwork on a table for feeding into the machine.
7. Lay articles on feeder ribbons that convey them into machines.
8. Smooth and guide articles by hand during the ironing process to prevent folds and wrinkles.
9. Fold flatwork and/or tumble work pieces discharged from the machine and place them in baskets on carts or conveyor belts.
10. Finish shirts by operating four presses, such as the sleever, collar-cuff press, and body presses as required.
11. Finish perm-press articles that are dried on hangers, placed on a conveyor, and pass through a steam conditioner to remove wrinkles and set the finish.

Linen Assistant Requirements:

1. Able to lift up to 50 lbs.
2. Able to work in a hot environment.
