Job description

This role focuses on activities related to the support services functions, such as dietary and food services, environmental services, general facilities, repair and maintenance, parking, sterilization and transportation to ensure all required support activities are completed in a timely manner and meet the organization's quality standards and expectations. In addition, this role focuses on performing the following Environmental Services duties: Researches the environmental effects of activities to develop methods of controlling or minimizing factors contributing to environmental damage and/or improve the effectiveness of restorative activities. A technical role that accomplishes work through a specialized knowledge or skills gained through a combination of vocational education, training, apprenticeship (craft, skilled and semi-skilled), and experience. An experienced level role that requires basic knowledge of job procedures and tools obtained through work experience and requires vocational or technical education. Works under moderate supervision, problems are typically of a routine nature, but may at times require interpretation or deviation from standard procedures and communicates information that requires some explanation or interpretation. This position ensures timely, efficient linen supply supporting patient needs and the patient experience. Services may include but not limited to delivery and pick-up of General Service supplies throughout the hospital campus. Also requires continuous flexibility and back up functions to assist with responding to variations inpatient volume and continually maximize efficient delivery and use of resources. **Job Description****Preferred Qualifications:****Duties and Responsibilities:** The duties and responsibilities listed below are intended to describe the general nature of work and are not intended to be an all-inclusive list. Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned.**Physical Requirements:** 2. Physical ability to stand, walk and bend the majority of the shift.3. Physical ability to lift medium weight (60 lbs.) and push 300 lbs. on wheels (40% of the shift).**Skills & Abilities:** 1. Ability to read and write in English. Ability to understand both written and verbal instruction, and provide follow through on instructions.2. Computer and keyboard skills are required for basic data entry.3. Knowledge of computer systems and software with an ability to learn and retain new applications.4. Familiarity with a wide variety of medical equipment/supplies and their intended uses.5.
