Job summary

Brazos Electric Power Cooperative, Inc. is seeking an experienced Lineman to join our Operations Maintenance team in Reagor Springs, TX. The role involves construction and maintenance on transmission lines and substations, with work on energized and de-energized equipment.

The ideal candidate has several years of line work experience, a valid CDL, and the ability to read blueprints. We offer competitive pay and benefits and a strong safety culture in a team environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Three years of related experience, including two years as Apprentice Lineman.
• Valid CDL with required endorsements.
• Ability to safely perform physically demanding outdoor work.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, blueprints, and specs.
• Willingness to live within 30 minutes of Reagor Springs office and to work overtime or travel on short notice.

Responsibilities

• Replace poles, crossarms, insulators and repair conductors on transmission lines.
• Patrol transmission lines and inspect structures, gates, and rights-of-way.
• Perform switching and sectionalizing activities.
• Install and connect transformers and related equipment.
• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications for line and substation work.
• Identify hazards and promote safe work practices around energized lines.
• Assist with installation of steel towers and substation equipment.
• Clear and maintain rights-of-way; climb and maintain towers.
• Work safely with hazardous materials and assist with spill cleanup.
