Job summary

Brazos Electric Power Cooperative, Inc. is seeking an experienced Light Crew Foreman to lead transmission line construction and maintenance projects across Texas. You will mentor crews, ensure safety, and deliver reliable electric service in coordination with the District Manager and operations team.

The role focuses on hands-on field leadership, safety culture, and high-quality workmanship, with opportunities to develop the next generation of line workers in a cooperative environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum 6 years of progressively responsible transmission line experience, including Journeyman/Senior Lineman or Patrolman roles.
• Strong leadership, communication, and decision-making abilities; ability to train and motivate crews while maintaining safety.

Responsibilities

• Lead transmission line construction, maintenance, and repair on energized and de-energized equipment.
• Replace poles, crossarms, insulators, and conductors; coordinate repairs from infrared inspections.
• Promote safe work practices and company safety rules; oversee crews to deliver high-quality work.

With a history dating back to 1941, Brazos Electric has grown and evolved over the years to serve the changing needs of our member-owner co-ops and their customers throughout Texas. Brazos Electric Cooperative provides transmission and distribution services for 16 Texas electric co-ops whose service territory extends across 68 counties from the Texas Panhandle to Houston. What You'll Do

As a Light Crew Foreman, you'll lead crews performing transmission line construction, maintenance, and emergency restoration while ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead transmission line construction, maintenance, and repair activities on energized and de-energized equipment.
• Replace poles, crossarms, insulators, and conductors, and perform repairs identified through infrared inspection programs.
• Promote and enforce safe work practices, Cooperative safety rules, and proper operating procedures.
• Mentor, train, and develop line crew personnel in technical skills, safety, and efficient work practices.
• Monitor work activities, identify hazards, and ensure crews perform work safely around energized facilities.
• Operate and oversee the safe use of line construction and maintenance equipment.
• Read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and work plans.
• Support substation construction and maintenance, including transformer installations and mobile substation deployment during planned work and emergencies.
• Perform switching, sectionalizing, and Patrolman duties as assigned.
• Coordinate work schedules with the District Manager and complete daily reports, material tracking, and administrative responsibilities. What We're Looking For
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 6 years of progressively responsible transmission line experience, including experience as a Journeyman Lineman, Senior Lineman, or Patrolman.
• Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with appropriate endorsements, or the ability to maintain one.
• Strong leadership, communication, and decision-making skills.
• Ability to train, coach, and motivate crews while maintaining a strong safety culture.
