Job summary

Kingsport Power Company is seeking a Line Mechanic with progressive roles to perform installation, maintenance, and inspection of electrical transmission and distribution facilities, both overhead and underground. Roles involve working under direct or general supervision as skill level dictates, including live line tasks with proper oversight.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED and a valid Class A CDL. Experience in distribution line work or line school is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Valid Class A CDL is required.
• Minimum one year distribution electrical power line work experience or equivalent.
• Shall have performed the duties of Line Mechanic B/C as applicable and qualify through evaluation.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain and inspect overhead and underground facilities and equipment.
• Test de-energized lines, ground and insulate as required under supervision.
• Direct crew and coordinate with supervision.
• Complete Monthly Apprentice Cards and submit to supervision for review.
