Ervin Cable Construction LLC is hiring a Lineman I Telecom in Wood River, IL. You will assist in installing and maintaining fiber and telecom cables overhead, using bucket trucks and other equipment to ensure safe, reliable service.

The role requires climbing, driving, and readiness to respond to storms on short notice. The position emphasizes safety, on-site collaboration, and adherence to company standards.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Authorization to work in the United States for this company.
• High School Diploma, GED equivalent, or relevant work experience.
• Valid state driver’s license (not Provisional) with acceptable driving record.
• Previous construction experience desired, preferably in telecommunications.

Responsibilities

• Assist with installation of fiber and telecom cables overhead and promptly repair issues for reliable service.
• Safely operate equipment such as bucket truck, digger derrick, and excavators.
• Safely use hand tools and power tools (wrenches, drills, saws).
• Maintain safe work areas to ensure smooth traffic flow on site.
• Work at heights using climbing hooks and ladders with proper safety.
• Be ready to travel for storm response on short notice.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
