Job summary

GVEC is hiring a First Year Apprentice Lineman in Cuero, Texas, to participate in the four-year apprenticeship program and progress to certified Lineman. Base pay starts at $25.00 per hour with bonuses tied to performance benchmarks.

The role requires entry-level line construction work, a valid Texas driver’s license, and the ability to obtain a Class A CDL within six months. Training certificates or enrollment in GVEC Apprenticeship are expected.

Qualifications

• Must complete Lineman Training Program or GVEC Apprenticeship during employment.
• Demonstrates self-motivation and safe work ethics.
• Requires valid Texas driver’s license; ability to obtain Class A CDL within six months.

Responsibilities

• Complete Defensive Driving for Utility Vehicles.
• Demonstrate PPE proficiency and safety measures on jobsites.
• Learn GVEC construction specs and equipment usage.
• Assist in loading and transporting poles and equipment safely.
• Complete pole top and bucket rescue drills and related training.
