Qualifications

• Requires completion of an accredited lineman college course or six months of lineman work experience in electric utility distribution.
• Must reside or relocate within proximity to assigned duty station and be willing to relocate.
• Must have a valid Texas CDL Class A (intrastate may be accepted).
• Certification in Pole Top Rescue, Bucket Rescue, Digger and Aerial Device Operation, or obtain within six months of hire.
• CPR/First Aid/AED certification required or must be obtained.
• Ability to learn and operate equipment including bucket and digger trucks and other tools.
• Experience with metering knowledge and ability to interpret maps and staking sheets.
• Strong English communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Participate in a 5-year apprenticeship with 8 steps, progressing through six 6-month steps and two 1-year steps.
• Follow curriculum and complete on-the-job training, distance-learning, and off-site courses.
• Maintain safety protocols and comply with company policies.
• Be available for stand-by, on-call, and emergency responses.
• Travel as needed for emergency support.
