Job Overview

We're looking for skilled linemen to help build and maintain new telecom fiber networks.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Install, remove, maintain, relocate and repair aerial and underground fiber optic cable and other telecommunication transmission and distribution lines, drop cables and associated hardware.
  2. Inspect, monitor, test and adjust telecommunication transmission lines and cables and distribution systems.
  3. Climb and work aloft on poles, ladders or other support structures or confined spaces.
  4. Perform all duties according to prescribed safety procedures and use appropriate safety equipment.
  5. Ensure work meets industry standards, is technically reliable, and is performed in a timely and cost-efficient manner.
  6. Provide support for line crews during all phases of construction activity.
  7. Direct traffic flow in accordance with local DOT guidelines.
  8. Communicate with other workers to coordinate the preparation and completion of work assignments.
Minimum Qualifications
  • 2+ years of experience as a communications, aerial or telecommunications lineman with knowledge to detect power space violations and safety issues.
  • Ability to climb poles to cable height using pole climber gaffs.
  • Ability to pull and lash fiber.
  • Willingness to perform manual labor, walk on uneven ground, work in tight spaces, and be physically demanding.
  • Ability to perform heavy physical work safely and efficiently.
  • Proficiency with hand tools, equipment, and climbing gear.
  • Ability to operate mechanized equipment such as bucket trucks, if needed.
  • Ability to work aloft using climbing hooks and ladders, and climb telephone poles up to 40 feet.
  • Availability for overtime, travel, and working in all weather conditions.
  • Follow safety guidelines and wear PPE at all times.
  • Fluent English communication skills.
  • Pre-employment on-site certification and a valid driver's license (preferably CDL A) with a clean MVR.
  • Successful completion of drug, alcohol, and MVR tests post-hire.
Physical Demands & Work Environment
  • Ability to lift, reach, dig, carry heavy objects, and work in various physical positions.
  • Good vision and ability to operate vehicles and equipment safely.
  • Ability to lift objects up to 50 pounds regularly and up to 100 pounds occasionally.
  • Ability to move within the work environment as required.
