3rd Shift Line Worker
Position Summary: Positions require employees to stand directly in front of a moving conveyor aligned side-by-side with other employees in close proximity and sort, place, arrange, pull designated ingredients, and pack finished products according to safety, quality, and production standards. Employees are assigned to different duties on the assembly line, which typically change throughout the day, including sorting, assembling, inspecting, and packing.
General Duties & Responsibilities:
- Desire to grow into a machine operator within a short timeframe.
- Work safely and report safety hazards immediately.
- Follow work rules, policies, and procedures.
- Uphold food safety requirements, including good hygiene practices: washing hands as required and wearing smock, sleeves, gloves, boots/shoe covers, hair net, and beard net as appropriate.
- Work well with other employees to meet line speed requirements.
- Place supplemental ingredients during rework as needed.
- Estimate weights, counts, shapes/sizes, and place items in designated containers.
- Pull and pack finished goods into containers.
- Report line breakdowns or quality issues immediately to the line lead or supervisor.
- Perform other duties as assigned, including relocation to other lines or locations, based on labor needs and product variations.
- This role may require extended hours, including after hours and weekends, based on production needs.
Qualifications
- Must be 18 years old to work for Monogram Foods.
- Desire to advance into a machine operator role quickly.
- Maintain balance on slippery wet surfaces.
- Stand in one place and maintain balance on a hard surface for up to 3.5 hours.
- Depending on height, may need to bend or reach above shoulders for up to 3 hours.
- Reaching approximately 22-24 inches to access ingredients on conveyors 38-40 inches high.
- Observe products moving on conveyor systems for up to 3.5 hours, which may be challenging for those with vertigo or motion sickness.
- Work with coordination, dexterity, and speed, including visual and manual tasks like pinching, pulling, and grasping components.
- Regularly lift 30 pounds and up to 10 pounds repeatedly.
- Tolerate moving machinery, vibration, and high noise levels.
- Hear machinery alarms and instructions in noisy environments.
- Tolerate cold and wet environments (as low as 43°F) and handle frozen components with insulated gloves for up to three hours.
Preferred: Ability to read limited words and recognize similarities/differences in words and numbers (e.g., addition/subtraction).
