Job summary

Versant Power is seeking a Line Worker, 1st Class to support transmission and distribution work in northern and eastern Maine. The role involves field construction, maintenance, and removals with a strong emphasis on safety and teamwork.

The position requires reading plans, operating line equipment, and maintaining precise records. A Maine Class A CDL must be obtained within six months, and compliance with DOT drug testing is required.

Qualifications

• Working understanding of electrical theory and fundamentals of current, voltage, resistance, and transformation.
• Ability to read orders, plans, and work prints and understand symbols.
• Rig, operate, and use line-work equipment and work with limited supervision.
• Must obtain and maintain a valid Maine Class A CDL within six months.

Responsibilities

• Performs duties of lower rated jobs in the Line Worker progression.
• Operates trucks and equipment as required.
• Instructs and directs workers in lower classifications.
• Maintains accurate time and materials records at job site.
• May act as Lead Worker when needed.
• Spends up to 90% of time in field operations at job sites.
• Adheres to safety, EMS, and environmental procedures.
